Skay company has been selling equipment since 2004, since the term smartphone was still missing on Wikipedia. In those years, Motorola V3 Razr, Nokia 6230 and Sony Ericsson K700 were bestsellers. In those days, the Internet was not as well expanded as it is now, and retail trade was conducted in the markets and in specialized stores. Over the course of time, one Skay selling spot has become a chain of stores.

Along with the expansion of the company, the technology sales market also developed. Such concepts as “online”, “offline” appeared and customers began to use the Internet as a tool for interacting with stores. The company decided to develop an online sales channel.

1. Online store

In February 2012, we made the first online store of Skay company. It was called Skay-Shop (http://skay-shop.com.ua). The site showed network users products sold in the company, as well as items that could be ordered from suppliers.

In November 2014, we changed the design of the site, updated its management system to the latest version, and changed the name. Now the site is called Skay and is located on the .ua domain (https://skay.ua). We adapted all the data from the old site to the new system and transferred them to the new one.

On April 29, 2017, on the birthday of the company, we updated the site design, management system and mobile version of the site. Now Skay has become adaptive for all mobile device resolutions. In the new version, we set up an automatic exchange of the site with the product accounting system. Now information about the stocks and prices on the site is not loaded manually, but using the exchange script.

To segment the audience by interest, we have created several landing pages dedicated to specific products. In August 2017, we created a page dedicated to the sale of gyroboards: https://gyrobord.skay.ua/

2. SEO optimization.

We’ve compiled the semantic core of the site and introduced the formulas of meta-words to the site, starting with the first version of the site.

We set up automatic entering of meta-words without a manager. When creating a new category or product, meta-words are created using the formula we have compiled.

From the first version of the site in 2012, we systematically and gradually increase the link mass, which allows the site to occupy places in the TOP 10 for targeted requests.

Constantly controlling the quality of the link mass of the site, we increased the site’s performance to 80% organic links and 20% SEO links.

We conduct monthly SEO audits to detect possible site improvements.

3. SMM promotion.

While working on the project, social networks have changed their format and business opportunities. The first social network we started working with was vk.com. In May 2013, we registered a Facebook profile for the company, in December 2013, we made a Youtube channel, and in November 2014, we started working with Instagram.

We have compiled a content plan for all social networks, and today we use them to publish daily posts and stories.

To develop the Youtube channel, we made 67 videos and brought the channel to the most efficient source in terms of traffic attraction.

To promote promotions, we weekly target a portrait of a company user.

We offer more than basic SMM tools. That's why we designed brand I 🍏 SKAY.UA. The main goal of which is to popularize the company's name by being associated with Apple products. I 🍏 SKAY.UA was printed on T-shirts, cups, wristbands and power banks to use them as promotional merchandise. Later on selling wristbands became a way to raise money for charity.

On the 4th of July 2018 to celebrate our 14th anniversary we established the statue "Cat-Gamer Pushinka" as a gift to our beautiful city. We liked this lovely character so much that decided to make her famous. We created an Instagram account, where she can now express her feelings about everything that comes to Cat’s mind. @pushinka_odessa.

4. Content marketing.

Since February 2013, we’ve started the company blog. From that moment until today we have written 611 articles (https://skay.ua/reviews/).

Since 2012, we regularly update the product line on the site and monitor the relevance of prices on the site.

Thanks to the systematic, consistent work on optimizing the site in all areas since its inception in 2012, skay.ua visitors are constantly growing.

After we implemented an adaptive version of the site, mobile traffic grew by 18.7%.

The greatest number of orders is made by customers who find the site through search engines. This was made possible thanks to our work on SEO optimization.

Brand PR in social networks and offline activity brought the level of orders by direct transitions to 15% of the total of all orders. Almost two out of ten people who made an order on the site, passed to the site through bookmarks or typed the address in the browser line.

Thanks to the work on the brand's reputation and control over reviews, the company's social media pages have a high rating and almost zero negative reviews.

Constant work on content and creating articles for the blog makes the resource more interesting for users and allows to get new customers. People find the website when they are looking for answers to their questions.

Content published in messengers allows customers to receive useful information in a convenient way. Well-designed content plan and daily posts permitted to gather thousands of company customers through the channels.

Professional online and offline promotion allowed Skay.ua to become a strong, sustainable brand that has a high recognition and level of trust in its segment and region.
